"When words fail, music speaks" Hans Christien Andersen
Appearances can be deceiving...

John was always tall for his age but not very athletic, standing at 185 cm and weighting 70 Kg. While sports are something he enjoys, his body structure is slim and he is far from being muscled. Because of this his endurance is way bigger than his raw strength. His hair is blond and he like to have it medium sized with a messy hairstyle. He never had many facial hair, a fact that he actually doesn't mind. John is a very casual boy about the way he dresses. He always chooses clothes that he loves and that are practical and easy to use in his daily life. He currently wears a white shirt, beneath a black vest, with white trousers. Around his neck, John wears a small necklace with a black guitar. Black sneakers complete his outfit.

But people change with the wind...

John can be described as someone who is in love with the world he lives in. He is interested both in humans and Pokémon, admiring the complexity and nuances of every living being. He normally walks around with confidence and a smile on his face since he loves to get along with everyone, and dislikes getting into fights, only doing it when it's extremely necessary. He has a strong sense of honour, coming from his belief that words have power and must not be used lightly in certain occasions and even though he considers himself goods with words, he prefers to express himself thought his music, since he believes music to be precisely one of the ways to unlock some of the power words hold. He usually plays his acoustic guitar, getting so pulled in it that he completely ignores his surroundings. Since he values honour so deeply, he can take a while to truly trust somebody, because he fears his trust might be broken. He can't hide when he is mad, and most of the times wouldn't want to even try. Because of this, people often look to John differently according to his humour. When happy, people see him as someone extremely communicative and friendly. When he is sad or angry, he gets pretty depressive and people generally don't approach him. This has led to some people having awful impressions on him, when met under this kind of spirit.

So who you were is not who you are.

John grew up at Vermilion City where he lived with his parents: his father, a famous doctor, and his mother, a psychologist. During his early years, John’s parents were often busy with work and their absence left a mark on the young boy resulting in a distant relationship to both of them. John spent most of his childhood with his grandfather who owned a music store. The store was located at a central road of Vermilion City where many trainers passed on their journey. Because of this, John spent a lot of time admiring the trainers and their Pokémon. He loved the heat of battle, and the determination in every trainer's eyes to push forward. But battle was not the only thing he loved about Pokémon. The sheer variety of Pokémon species inspired him. His parents never wanted Pokémon, since they couldn't take decent care of them. John understood that, but he never hid his will to have a Pokémon to call his own. John was never much of a cry baby, but there was something that could really annoy him: breaking promises. John's father often tried to compensate the boy for his absence by promising rewards to the child if he accomplished certain goals. The boy took them very seriously, a lot more than his father. When the promises were not kept, John was easily angered and frustrated. He refused to let these things go, and was often considered stubborn. At his thirteen birthday, John considered starting his own Pokémon journey, as some of his childhood friend were already starting one. But ultimately he gave up on the idea. The journey would be pretty hard, and he felt he was not mature enough. During 7 long years John helped his grandfather with the store. During that time John's interest in music grew up. He always felt it difficult to share his thoughts, his fears, and his own opinion on the world around him. As he needed something to get his head away from the Pokémon journey he could already be on, he began to learn music. His grandfather taught him to play the guitar, and he began to carry it everywhere. He also learned to play the flute. John loved to write and sing, but he never did it in front of many people. The rest of his free time was used to read and study about Pokémon. Often he could be found at the local Pokécenter, hearing stories of traveling trainers who were passing by. It was exactly at the Pokécenter that John first heard of the Ho'ohiki region. One day, John heard a traveling trainer talking about a mysterious region. It was so different from everything else he had heard! That night, as he closed his eyes to sleep, he understood. Leaving Kanto, leaving everything he ever knew was going to be hard, harder that he thought it would be. But the time had finally come. His journey was about to begin.

This is your new beginning.
