WELCOME TO CAMPANA TOWN
LOCAL INFORMATION
Local Pokémon: Fletchling Sunkern Cherubi Skiddo Deerling
Treated more like pets than pests, the local wildlife of Campana is extremely docile, especially thanks to their free access to chunks of Eviolite from construction sites. It's common to see "wild" Pokémon adorned with ribbons and bells, a sign of just how close Campana's human residents are to their environment. Campana's official bird is Fletchling.
Quite possibly the most normal, comforting town in the region, Campana Town is a hub for breeders, farmers, and the odd trainer, proudly boasting the official Grass-type gym of the island's league - a point of pride for such a small settlement. Made up of a series of gently rolling hills, Campana's homes are built into the earth, creating a hidden city of tunnels and passageways - and making it a good place to hide away from the pressures of city life. Because their entire infrastructure is built into the earth, mining is hugely important in Campana, with much of their income coming from the accidental excavation of precious metals and gems, including Eviolite. With an almost startlingly mixed population, Campana welcomes outsiders with open arms, and has become a mini hub of diversity, with the original culture being nearly lost by this point in time. Older natives do have a heavy Irish brogue, however, and most of the population is white.

Cyrus rested on the edge of the path right on the egde of Campana on his stomach, in the grass of the field, camera in front of his face fixed on Whiteout as he bounced around from one stray flower to the next. Cyrus kept his camera focused on the small fox Pokemon, bit was also keeping an eye out for anything else that may appear. Whiteout finds a particular spot of grass that he finds perfect to roll around in getting grass stains all over his fur, Cyrus notes. He swears that the ice Pokemon can't keep clean for even five minutes once he wakes up in the morning.

Cyrus snaps a few pictures of the fox Pokemon's paws stretching out to the sky as he wriggled on his back. Whiteout finishes staining his back, and bounces his way slowly over to Cyrus. He stopped about five times on the way to smell something, playfully pounce on a particularly tall blade of grass that was swaying in the wind, or whenever Cyrus would say freeze just loud enough for the snowy Pokemon to hear. Eventually though he made it back to his partner and he affectionately bumped Cyrus' face with his nose.

"Do you want to do a bit of training?" Cyrus questioned softly as he started switching his position, so that he had one knee under him and the other in front of him. As he was shifting Whiteout shouted, "VUL!" happily, and clambered onto his shoulder, jumping on to his head, and finally leaping off to snip in a happy circle. "Vul! Vul! Pix! Vul!" He yipped excitedly.

"Alright. Alright." Cyrus sighed out smiling. He pulled a small rubber ball out of his pocket. Cyrus through the ball, "Whiteout use Powder Snow." Whiteout ran after the ball and leapt into the air with a load "VUL!" A stream of frost and snow shot out of the small Pokemon's mouth freezing the ball. It shattered when it hit the ground and Whiteout landed softly after it. "Good job Whiteout." Cyrus called. He had gotten a fantastic shot of Whiteout attacking with a determined gaze.

"Olu-ri?" The sound of his name in his Pokemon's tongue brought Jago's attention back to the Riolu. The trainer had been scanning the sky and horizon for one of two familiar shapes and hadn't been paying much attention to where he was going. He quirked a brow at Kan, indicating he was listening when the fighting type looked pointedly at Jago's feet. The teenager looked down to see that he had starting walking off the path and into the grass. He hadn't even noticed. The lavender-haired teen smiled sheepishly and returned to the path. Kan folded his arms and looked at his human expectantly. "What? Wait...where's Shito?" He asked, finally looking around the dual type. The Riolu made an exasperated face and pointed into a grass field on the other side of the walking path. Sure enough, a few seconds passed and Jago would see the Ralt's pinkish protrusions raise up out of the grass as he stood back up.

Jago gave the emanation Pokemon a grateful smile. "You're the best. Sorry for my distraction, I was hoping we'd run into Gwyn again." This information did not prove to be news to Kan, just confirming that his oldest Pokemon definitely knew him best. Meanwhile, a little ways, Shito's head perked up when he heard something that sounded like a Pokemon? Unlike Jago's Frillish or Noibat, the Ralts was not going to investigate on his own. Instead, he made his way back to the duo on the path and tugged at the human's pant leg. Jago's blue-gray eyes dropped to the dual type. "What's up, Shito? Are you having fun?" Shito nodded but then pointed off in the direction he'd heard the noise. "You want to go that way?" It wasn't following the path, but he didn't see why not, the feeling Pokemon didn't usually make requests.

It wasn't too long before the trio crested a small hill. From that vantage, they could easily see the path heading out of Campana, but what interested them was a figure and a white Pokemon in the blanket of grass. Jago led the way closer, hands casually in his pockets, with the Riolu right next to him and the Ralts just behind. The trainer studied the snowy fox, having a hard time figuring out what it was. He could use his Pokedex, but he thought that would be a rude interruption to their game. "Good morning." He called to the stranger before they got too close so as not to spook them. Once closer, he noted the older guy had a camera and he hoped they weren't interrupting something. "Oh, sorry. I didn't realize you were taking photos. I hope we're not disturbing you..."

Cyrus startled at being called out to, not that an untrained eye would be able to tell. He accidentally snapped a photo that was focused on something behind Whiteout causing the fox Pokemon to be quite fuzzy in the photo. Cyrus lowered his camera and stood up to be able to get a better look at the person calling out to him from the small hill above him. Cyrus noticed the light purple hair first and the two Pokemon next. He wasn't quite sure what they were till they all came closer.

"Morning." He called back, voice mellow, and his face carefully blank. Cyrus eyed the other carefully, noticing his rather casual posture. Whiteout bounded over to his side and started whining. Cyrus hypothesized that he wanted to play with the other Pokemon like he usually did. The Alolan Vulpix was practically vibrating with excitement at his heel.

Cyrus lowered his hood on his cloak a few clicks as the other came closer and responded, "No. You aren't disturbing us." Cyrus waited a few seconds while getting a look at the other's Pokemon. Both the Riolu and the Ralts seemed to have a good rapport with their trainer, because of this Cyrus added, "I was just training Whiteout here." He gestured the grass stained white fluff ball that looked like he could explode at any moment. "Would you like to join us?" Cyrus paused glancing at the ice Pokemon. "Is it, at the very least, okay if he says hi to your Pokemon?" Cyrus offered and Whiteout punctuated the sentence with a happy "VUL!" He then followed up his yip with big blue puppy dog eyes directed at the other trainer.

Unfortunately for Cyrus, Jago's eyes were trained and he noted the slight jerk when he called out. Fortunately for Cyrus, the teenager was polite and saw no reason to comment on it if the hooded trainer didn't make mention of them sneaking up. It had been some time since he'd seen anyone using an actual camera instead of just their phone; it was a pleasant surprise. He figured the stranger must be a photographer either by trade or hobby. Maybe if things went well, he could ask for a photo to send to his mom, but he wouldn't be that presumptuous this early on. He did think the hooded cloak was odd, but who was he to judge other people's fashion sense?

As the photographer stood and Jago got closer, he was surprised at just how much height difference was there. For a moment, he thought he must be talking with a younger teenager but then the other boy spoke. He didn't sound that young. When the trio stopped a few feet from him, the fighter thought it odd that he pulled his hood further down, making it harder to see his face. His father had always cautioned him against people who wouldn't show their eyes. When the white Pokemon bounded closer and seemed intent on wanting to see them, the Riolu smiled while the Ralts took a half step behind Jago's leg and peered around shyly. "Hi there." Jago commented to the Vulpix with a grin.

Despite seeming a bit guarded from them, the guy didn't brush them off and instead decided to offer some conversation. Jago chuckled as he noted the grass stains on the white pelt. "I see that. Seems like real fun can't be had without getting dirty, huh?" At the offer to join them and the request for interaction, the teenager's smile widened. "Of course he can come say hello. This is Kan," He gestured to the Riolu, "And this is Shito. Don't worry about him too much, he's bashful, not scared." He commented as he gestured to the Ralts; feeling the need to put others at ease about the shy Pokemon. Shito was different from any of his other Pokemon, so it was taking some getting use to. He was just grateful that it was bashfulness and not anxiety. Being raised in a house with a fighting type specialist, Jago wasn't use to timidness in Pokemon, but they were figuring it out.

Kan took a few steps forward, encouraging the Ralts along to greet the Vulpix. While the Pokemon were saying hello, the lavender haired teen turned his attention back to the mysterious photographer. "I'm Jago, by the way. It's kind of you to let us join in your training." Having determined that the person in front of him was not a child or young teenager, he couldn't help but let his natural charm ooze it's way into his words. He tilted his head slightly, a lopsided smile on his lips. "Perhaps a friendly match?"
