WELCOME TO UBERRIME CITY
LOCAL INFORMATION
Local Pokémon: Pidove Pichu Elekid Helioptile Pawniard
With cities come pests, and Uberrime has its fair share of annoyingly domesticated Pokémon. Pichu and Elekid form strange social packs, working together to rifle through the bits and pieces left outside of diners and cafes. Helioptile, originally introduced to feed on the massive Pichu infestation, are now just as big of a nuisance, sunning themselves on the stone sidewalks and occasionally snacking on the overweight Pidove that flock to Uberrime. Pawniard trained by the local branch of Rangers work to keep crime - at least, the obvious kind - to a minimum. Uberrime's official bird is Pidove.
The very definition of opulence, Uberrime is packed to the brim with shining metal buildings, bustling shopping centers, and the latest in technology from researchers around the island - and even from other regions. Far and away the most advanced city for miles, Uberrime boasts a multi-story gym, highlighting Steel and Electric-type Pokémon, along with an alternative route through which those less inclined to fight can answer puzzling questions to advance. Those with scientific interests will be right at home, especially researchers, who will no doubt find work in any field they please. Breeders, however, may find themselves up a proverbial stream without a proverbial paddle, as Uberrime's population is inundated with the latest in pure blooded oddities and attractive award-winning Pokémon. Oddly, Uberrime seems to have no discernible culture, nor has it ever...

Shoving a criminal through Uberrime streets had become an artform for Lone Ranger. Without the access to a car or truck, he had to make due with long hikes through Ho’ohiki, usually with someone handcuffed in front of him. Typically there was two of them to ensure, without a doubt, that no one could make a break for it but his partner was off looking for clues on people he was being paid to find. LR didn’t particularly care, he could work just fine without Bloodhound but there was a certain amount of reassurance when he knew he had back up as well as the companionship that came with the only person who intrinsically knew him. It still didn’t stop him from taking jobs that lead him all the way to Campana, forcing him to march all the way to Uberrime with a law-breaker in tow as par the orders of the warrant. It wasn’t an easy life but it was certainly a life LR wouldn’t trade at the moment. The criminal in question had a bad habit of stealing Pokemon from the Contest Halls in guise of a doctor offering already illegal supplements to enhance performance in the shows and selling them in Caecus while he hid out in Campana. No one came forward stating their Pokemon was stolen because they didn’t want to get charged for drugging their Pokemon until a desperate individual wanted the Pokemon they paid five grand on. LR heard they weren’t getting their Pokemon back even if it could be found in the sea of the buying and selling of Caecus’ busy affairs. Sucks to be them, he thought dryly with a nasally snort.True this guy wasn’t the most dangerous of criminals, he didn’t kill Pokemon or People, which was a common affair for Lone Ranger and Bloodhound to deal with, but it was still another catch in LR’s book and it would bring substantial money, as they all did. If only money were a strong suit for LR, his account was swimming in it and the only thing he bought was food and other supplies; how could he leave home without a metric tonne of rubber bullets in his pockets. Even then it was Bloodhound who did the shopping while LR oh so carefully picked the jobs from the Ranger Station. Only the best jobs could be picked for their kind of expertise and LR was one damn picky individual, making him wonder why he took up such an easy job like this one but there was no sense in picking it apart now that it was done. Grabbing an arm, Lone Ranger opened the door to the Station before shoving his captive inside. The guy had seen better days: a broken nose had blossomed in a mask of purple around his eyes, a deep and crusty cut along the hairline spoke of a potential concussion, purple fingers that were easily broken splayed at offset angles, and the most questionable thing was duct tape spread across the Poacher’s face. The Poacher looked to have given up on the idea of getting out of his bonds, very likely due to have doing it before but there was a chance that the man was just the type to give up. It was hard to tell with LR’s unconventional tactics but he always seemed to have a sly tongue for good reasons and had yet to get more than a slap on the wrist. A rough, five finger shove in the center to the man’s back sent him stumbling yet with the grace of swift learned muscle memory he didn’t go down. They got to the back, behind the seas of desks, where he approached the Ranger at the back ready to take the Poacher and take him to the cramped, steel jaws of the law. Peeking behind the body of his charge he saw a face he had a hard time placing a name to but remembered well by his talks of Social Reforms for individuals like the person he had in front of him. He sneered and rolled his eyes loudly, a growl tickling his throat in hopes of squashing any conversation but knew he would have to use words to obtain the papers he needed to turn into the right people.“Just hurry it up, already. I need to get to other bounties,” LR barked, throwing fire and spite with his voice. There was no Social Reform for his Justice and so far luck has graced them with never having to interact with each other. Now it was time to “Poke the Luxray” and show fang. At least that’s how LR rolled, he expected this asshole to work out their issues with words. Terrakion, he is probably vegan too.805@Sirhan Saifuddin

It was a rare occasion that Sirhan was called away from his desk and instead of being sent out on the streets was ordered to serve as the shift's attending officer guarding the ranger's side of the lockups. Of course, given his background as a ex-con, Sirhan could understand some of the apprehension coming from the higher-ups; as the old saying went, it was probably akin to having inmates run an asylum and truth be told, they weren't too far from the truth.

If interrogation tactics were like pouring vinegar over an open wound, then he was the salve made of honey as he checked on the assortment of crooks and social misfits who were dragged there by local law enforcement, took statements, opened case files and examined medical bracelets or their hospital records for long-standing health conditions. Juveniles, the mentally-handicapped and first-time petty offenders were separated from hardened criminals and he spoke to each one personally, ensuring that they knew and understood their rights and were allowed the phone call to their lawyers or caregivers. Those who needed medication got it as soon as possible. Translators were called for the immigrant diaspora who needed them. The expressions on their faces ranged from bafflement to relief as he barred his own colleagues from interrogating them without the proper channels and stood as witness during the sessions to ensure nothing got out of hand.

He'd heard the quiet, whispery cursing behind his back but it didn't bother him what they thought;
They called it soft, he called it human and through their own grumbling, none of them noticed the fact that there was less complaining and commotion coming from the lockup which on its best day was near-mutinous.
Understanding was an odd thing to offer here of all places where the dregs of society were gathered, but it got his statements recorded a lot faster and confessions felt less like extracting a tooth than it did an actual conversation which did wonders in situations where the motive ran a lot deeper than simply greed or wanton cruelty.
There was no denying that some of them were involved in serious crimes.
He knew what it felt like to be on the opposite end of the bars and had simply wisened up to the notion that not all crimes were equal.

Which was probably why he felt his blood pressure peak when he head the boots stomping his way and caught glance of the Napoleonic figure headed right his way with a bedraggled suspect in tow. Underneath the desk, Saladin seemed to have felt the sudden, intense wave of dislike as the pup peered out at the approaching men curiously.
'Lone Ranger' they had called this scowly-faced Granbull of a human being; Sirhan had heard of him from the higher-ups whenever a case got out of hand or when they needed some extreme measures. He didn't know why the man was still allowed to serve as a Ranger considering they were closer to the job specifications of a bounty hunter and a needlessly vicious one at that. LR had a way with perps and seemed rather proud of their handiwork as was seen lovingly plastered all over the battered suspect's face and immediately Sirhan got to his feet, already feeling the migraine creeping in.
Behind him, half the people in the lockup who were aware of the man's reputation as the criminal boogeyman underground visibly shrank away from LR's shadow which would have been hilarious if the situation was different given how most of them dwarfed the man.

The thuggish hunting hound of their division had yelled something at him which flew over his head as he examined the 'bounty' who looked as though they got into a fight with a cement mixer, but Sirhan could guess as to what the man wanted; When bounty hunters turned in their catch, an official document was required with the county's stamp and signature from the attending officer to confirm that the bounty was legitimate and received.
Getting that confirmation was the problem as the facial recognition software on the camera hoisted on top of his desktop's screen couldn't scan the poacher's features properly underneath the facial injuries as he then resorted to fingerprinting instead, gingerly working with digits that had been forcefully mangled. This attempt worked as the man's case file popped up on the computer screen and they were barely recognizable as the smartly-dressed vet they were were purported to be and he shone a flashlight into the man's eyes to check for signs of a debilitating head injury.

"I'm not putting this man in a cell with a concussion, a broken nose and fingers that might be going necrotic."
The Hoenn native shot back irately, not backing down from LR's attempt to browbeat him as he took the poacher and carefully peeled off the tape on their mouth. The animalistic whimper of fear sounded as though it would be the only thing they would get out of the man for a while and Sirhan internally sighed at the time it would take to get the suspect talk coherently.

"He's going to the police medic. You want those papers, you can wait until I come back."

He was used to a lot of Rangers and Police in Uberrime to call his practices too much and outright brutal. It never bothered him much when the people standing here made snide remembers about how “if he could go easier on the bounties that would be helpful to everyone”. To him they were nothing more than water off a Ducklett’s back. Of course there were others, maybe more than the man in front of him would like, that praised his work. That told him good job or that more Rangers needed to take to the job like. Yet when he heard the praise it burned his gut like the fires of guilt he repressed every time his fist connected with a bounties face until he knocked a tooth loose. So he ignored them too. If only today he could feel the same way about Mr. Social Reform. Lone Ranger looked at the man with a deadpan stare that dissolved, like flesh in acid, into a snarl. Did he really think it was his place to make him wait around just because he didn’t like the state in which a known offender, an offender that did God’s knows what to the Pokemon in his custody when he stole them carried them away to Caecus, preying upon the idiotic with illicit substances. Granted LR was willing to do just as bad to the owners of those poor Pokemon who were involved in this, equally to the scum that bought the Pokemon in Caecus, but this asshole deserved every bruise, just like they all did. As aggressive as a starving Lycanroc that had its foot stuck in a trap for two weeks, LR pulled the papers from his pocket, unfurled them in a hideously graceful fashion, and slammed them onto the desk. Grabbing a pen from a black mesh holder next to the computer, he clicked it on and held it out to Siran with all the flourish a Taurus in a Chinashop. He glared daggers, teeth bared in his snarl, “Finish the paperwork so I can leave you and your little bleeding hearted bullshit and get over your damn self. He’s not that hurt.”Of course for Lone Ranger, this was perhaps a lighter punishment than some. The several weeks it took him to get from Campana up to Okeanos through the Bends and like-minded routes, as only a crazy person would move through the Prairie this time year to catch the ferry in Okeanos, was a harsh one to do. What normally may have only took two weeks probably took three as they trekked together. The bounty didn’t look particularly skinny from the walk and his clothes were only muddy at the knees, likely how he fell as LR encouraged him forward. Although LR’s Pack didn’t seem to carry a tent in the reasonably smell bag, likely meaning they slept in the rough and certainly cold. To LR the bounty could be looking worse, after all he took care of him didn’t he? “I don’t want to ask you again. He can wait to see the fucking medic and I can go see whatever else is needed for me, got it, Sweetheart?” The ‘Sweetheart’ that was tacked onto the end seemed to be made of the lava right off a Slugma, intended to be used as weaponry rather than endearment. It was an insult in LR’s eyes, not necessarily meant to degrade but why not do that too. At this point LR was willing to do anything to this man, despite it likely backfiring in his face. As it was apt to do.607@Sirhan Saifuddin

The desk shook violently as a meaty hand slammed the grimy, crumpled sheets of paper on top the wooden tabletop and the sound made every intern within earshot flinch bodily as all eyes were upon them now. The younger members on their ranks were apprehensive as though watching for the inevitable volcanic implosion while the older Rangers who were in trapped in a paperwork-induced fugue state of boredom and were suddenly snapped back to reality leaned forward to watch the exchange between the two men with the keen interest of spectators in a particularly riveting badminton match.

None of this registered to the Hoenn native who was massaging the bridge of his nose all through the acid that was dripping from LR's words before he then jabbed his fingers at the faded lettering on the paper along with areas near the creases where they were missing entirely with the dangerously thin veneer of patience of a kindergarten teacher attempting to explain phonetics to a stubborn toddler.
The documents had been with the bounty hunter at the very least for the entire duration of the hunt judging from their state where movement as well as exposure had weathered them. If they had to take these to court to present to the judge during the con-man's hearing, there was a chance that it would be thrown out.

"Cap it on the agro, alright Lobo? One; You can't file these. Half of it is illegible, fifty-fifty it would be inadmissible in court and there's no sense in risking those numbers over something this routine."
Sirhan repartee'd testily before he logged in onto his PC and dug up the soft copy of the required paperwork from the files there, sending it to print at the nearby copier which was steadily chugging away with requests from different divisions.

"Two; He's not a bail jumper. He's a person of interest we haven't even questioned yet which means we're already on thin ice. He's seeing the doctor now because if he loses those fingers when he clearly didn't have to, the lawsuit the Public Defender going to levy on us is going to be murderous and I hate to break it to you, but not everyone here is making the five figures per capture you do that's going to keep their rent paid for next month if that happens."

With that, he shoved the weathered documents back towards LR as a few of the veteran rangers murmured in agreement; It was odd that someone who had been on the wrong side of the law would know minute details concerning arrests but then again perhaps no better man to know the loopholes and semantics of it than someone who'd been booked by it before.

"But hey, you don't have to ask me twice, Sugar, so save the flattery for date night because unless you plan to throw down with the damn printer, I won't tell you twice; Sit. Down. Or stand. I don't care really but I'm taking this man to the medics and you can sit and spin on things until those copies are done."

He moved over to the side of the desk, using a foot to deftly pull away a chair from an empty desk and flipping it over so it neatly fell into place right next to the stocky man who was glaring daggers at him before he politely mock-bowed in invitation for said man to take a seat, never taking his eyes off them.

"I'll be back to stamp and sign your free pass to assault and battery in five."

With that Sirhan began to move, taking the shaken bounty firmly by the shoulder and wheeling them around towards the direction of the medical bay, mentally cursing the fates which saw fit to have this man waltz into what would have been a decent day for him otherwise.
At least their interaction wouldn't last much longer; The less he saw of the man the better.

As good as he gave with his demands Flower Crown gave back with the details of how the inner workings of the Ranger Station and lock up actually worked. A lot of people would call him a meathead for only throwing around his ham hocks without knowing the finner inner works but once upon a time LR knew it all. It wasn’t hard to learn either. It had been too much paperwork and fluff for him. No one was getting anything done in his eyes. Bad guys were escaping to the other cities unapprehended where they had the chance of fleeing to other Regions if desperate and smart enough. Meanwhile they were stuck filling things out three times and hoping the irritatingly slow and poorly structure in his opinion. No one asked his opinions on these things and probably with good reason because apparently he thought a pocket was the safest place for papers meant for court. Being called out on that fact sent a bullet of shame richotting around in his head although he only showed it by lifting the corner of his lip farther to show even more tooth, if that were even possible. As the Ranger finished with the computer, LR angrily turned the monitor around as far as it would go in an attempt to see what he was doing, knocking a few things over in the process. Whether he saw something that appeased him or saw something that displeased him, LR even more aggressively turned it back around, with a flick of his thick wrist, causing it to jostle forward enough to almost fall if it weren’t for a split second decision to catch it himself. “If he didn’t want broken fingers he shouldn’t have tried to use something as a weapon! He’s not some fluffy lopunny in a trap on a sunny day. He’s a criminal. There is clear evidence it was him, I took pictures of more, and did my proper dudliguence to call someone in to the scene, and he tried to use a rock to hit me over the fucking head!” LR bellowed in the man’s face as he brought over a chair passive aggressively. “Maybe if he had been a smart criminal he would have dropped the fucking rock. So stop acting like he’s innocent in all this because he’s not. He’s a criminal. Treat him like one.” Honest to all the Deities of Justice, LR was ready to throw a fist with the man that close but the moment was fleeting and the collective unclenched sighs that could be faintly heard across the desks had LR wondering if they had been looking forward to it or were simply relieved LR didn’t touch a hair on this pretty bastard’s head. It was hard to tell but LR was starting to wonder if it mattered. This wasn’t for an audience. This was making a point but with moment over there was no place to make the point. Angry as he was he sat down loudly, the ball on his hip jostled enough to release a small metal man. He was well shined and looked more like a children’s toy than a Pokemon. Except for the hands. Why any creator in the world would give such a quaint creature knives for hands was beyond LR. It pissed him off. Pissed him off like this whole process did. Usually it was so clean cut. Just sign some papers and leave until he got something else. On occasion the routine was interrupted by his own injuries. It wasn’t too uncommon to get a few from the Pokemon next to him but he never meant it. Tungsten peeked under the desk seeing the end of a nose and the glossy eyes of a dog watching it all unfold with unease. Tungsten was used to the unease, of LR fighting with other people regardless who was going to end up on top. He wondered if it was a good thing or a bad thing that LR never asked him to help. There had been a few times Tungsten had intervened, when LR needed him most, or so he thought, but LR always sent him away. He wondered if it was like living his life under a desk like this pup. With LR distractedly waiting and watching for the other man to return, Tungsten crouched down and tried to come as close to the pup as he could without putting any of his many pointy ends and bits in his space. LR continued to be oblivious of this as he waited for the merry return of the pain in his backside by way of staring at the gaudy holiday decorations strewn about both sides of the shared Station. The room seemed to be too silent as people held their breaths and waited for round two of a fight LR most certainly lost. It was the time to place bets with deskmates on whether or not LR, infamous for throwing punches before his brain tells him it’s right or wrong, would deck the Station’s best and brightest social reformist with a past hard to shake. With every encounter the pool got deeper and deeper just like the vein on the side of LR’s head. He if he was forced to listen to one more distant Christmas song or look at anymore of these snowflakes hanging from the ceiling as he waited for this punk, he was definitely going to snap.912@Sirhan Saifuddin
